As the owner of Mint Hair Studio, Kristen brings over 25 years of experience to the salon. She opened Mint in 2011 with a clear vision: to create a welcoming, inclusive environment where clients and stylists feel comfortable, supported, and inspired.

With a focus on environmental impact, Mint was one of the first Green Circle affiliated salons in Ottawa. Kristen exclusively uses Kevin Murphy products and colour. She is also a Gold.Key Educator for Kevin Murphy, and enjoys working with other salons to share the brand's philosophy of fashion, function, and sustainability.

Over the past 25 years, Kristen has built a loyal clientele and continues to genuinely love what she does. She is passionate about mentoring hairstylists and helping them grow into confident, successful professionals.

ONNEKA

With over 25 years in the industry, Onneka has participated in competitions, fashion shows, and worked with CTV and local designers. Onneka loves learning, and has taken many classes with multiple brands to be able to use the proper techniques to bring her clients the look that is right for them.

Onneka is always up for anything! A good set of highlights, edgy haircuts, a fringe, and event styling are some of her favourites, but you will find her doing it all!

Onneka loves good conversation, family balance, hanging out in the sun, as well as dancing and trying new things!

AMBER

Amber has been behind the chair for 15 years. She graduated from Algonquin College with honours and has taken several Kevin Murphy training classes including their cutting techniques, colour, specialized toning, and she continues her education into 2026.

Amber loves a good blonding session, a dimensional balayage, or some bright vivids. Amber combines strong technical training with a natural eye for big transformations.

• On a Saturday night, you'll find me: dressed up going out to dinner, or cuddled on the couch with my little one.
• KM product I couldn't live without: Anti-gravity, I use it on all my clients — including myself!
• I could spend all day talking about: True Crime, I'm a sucker for a good crime documentary.
• My happy place is: Anywhere with my daughter, preferably the beach!
• My current obsession: My teeth, I'm obsessed with flossing!

MAEGAN

Junior Stylist; Salon Assistant

Maegan started as our salon assistant, and is now growing onto the floor! They graduated with honours in 2021 and are now accepting new clients.

Maegan loves to chat, they specialize in long hair with soft, dimensional colour as well as vivids.

Salon Manager, Receptionist

Kristine joined the Mint family in early 2019. Growing up with her Mom being a hairstylist, she found herself in salons most of her younger years. With a passion for the administration side of things, she has worked at many reputable salons gaining tons of experience along the way. You will find Kristine behind the desk, washing your hair, or even with a blow-drier helping out our busy stylists.
